Jamie Laputka 200RYT, RPYT, Prenatal Yoga, Yoga Therapist, Reiki Practitioner, Birth Doula and Childbirth Educator
Dragonfly Yoga & Wellness
Jamie Laputka, a West End Yoga-trained (200-hour) yoga instructor, found her love of yoga 14 years ago. She grows daily in her spiritual and physical yoga practice as a student and teacher.
Jamie enjoys teaching prenatal/postnatal yoga. She believes that prenatal yoga is very important during pregnancy to strengthen the body, increase flexibility, practice breathing techniques to assist with labor and to connect with baby. Jamie connects prenatal yoga with her birth doula training to help prepare moms-to-be to have the birth they desire. She has completed her 85 hour Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training with Babymoon Prenatal Yoga in NYC to deepen her prenatal yoga practice to share with moms-to-be and to help prepare their minds and bodies for the birth of their baby. Through yoga and conscious birth movement, women prepare for active childbirth in which they are empowered, respected and are responsible for the choices they make about their birth while developing increased self-esteem from the experience.
Jamie is a yoga therapist specializing in cancer and chronic illness through the YCAT Yoga for Cancer and Chronic Illness program. Jamie studied and received her certification from Jnani Chapman, founder of the YCAT program. She wants to bring healing to patients going through treatment, during infusion, pre/post operation or in recovery through the awareness of body, mind and breath. Jamie is also a Reiki practitioner using energy therapy to rebalance the body's energy by directing universal energy into the physical body, stimulating the receiver's innate healing capacities. Reiki heals by flowing through the affected parts of the energy field and charging them with positive energy.
